Dixon Hughes Goodman, one of the nation’s top 20 public accounting firms, has announced the following promotions for its Hampton Roads offices:

Angela Tumwa, CPA, has been promoted to Senior Manager.  Angela has more than 15 years of experience providing accounting services, including experience as a director of finance in a large international exempt organization. Angela’s responsibilities primarily include providing and reviewing assurance services, assistance with preparation of financial statements, and preparation and review of information returns for tax-exempt organizations. Angela received a Master of Professional Accountancy degree and a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Wichita State University.

Julie Pellillo, CPA has been promoted to Manager. Julie has more than eight years of accounting and auditing experience, most of which is in public accounting. Julie has performed audits and consulting services to various industries including religious organizations, not-for-profits, foundations, governmental authorities and commissions, government contractors, financial institutions and mortgage companies. Julie received her Bachelor of Science degree from West Virginia University.

Kimberly Truxell, CPA, QKA, QPA has been promoted to Manager.  Kimberly has been with the firm since 1998. She has 17 years of experience in public accounting, with a focus on retirement plan compliance services for the past nine years.  Kimberly specializes in 401(k) and profit sharing plans for businesses ranging in size from a one-man operation to an employer with hundreds of employees. She has expertise in daily valuation products with a variety of investment platforms and traditional balance forward plans. Kimberly received a Bachelor of Science degree from Old Dominion University.

Gabby Briggs has been promoted to Senior Associate. Gabby has two years of experience in public accounting, serving assurance clients throughout the Hampton Roads region. She has performed audits, reviews, compilations and tax engagements for a diverse group of clients under various standards, including Generally Accepted Auditing Standards and Statements on Standards for Accounting and Review Services. Gabby is a member of the DHG construction and manufacturing & distribution industry groups. Gabby received a Bachelor of Science degree from Old Dominion University.

Ricky Diaz has been promoted to Senior Associate.  Ricky has been with the firm since 2014, working in Retirement Plan Services. His main focus is providing compliance services for defined contribution retirement plans. Ricky provides client-focused retirement plan services for small to medium-sized businesses. He specializes in performing plan asset reconciliations and employer contribution allocations. Ricky received a Bachelor of Science degree from Old Dominion University.

Brittney Gregerson, CPA has been promoted to Senior Associate. Brittney started her career with Dixon Hughes Goodman as an Assurance Associate in 2013. Prior to joining full-time, Brittney completed a summer internship with Dixon Hughes Goodman. Throughout her tenure at DHG she has gained audit experience in a variety of industries, including government contracting, not-for-profit organizations, timeshare associations, manufacturing and service industries. Brittney has experience performing audits, reviews, and compilation engagements for a diverse group of clients. Brittney received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree and a Master of Science degree from James Madison University.

Laura Langton, CPA has been promoted to Senior Associate.  Laura has more than two years of experience in public accounting. She began working with the firm as an intern in January 2013. Laura has performed audits, reviews and compilations under various standards, including government auditing standards, U.S Office of Management and Budget Circular A-133 and Generally Accepted Auditing Standards. Laura works with financial institutions, not-for-profits, higher education organizations, as well as clients in the real estate/hospitality industry.  She is also a member of DHG’s not-for-profit industry group. Laura received her Bachelor of Science degree from Old Dominion University.


Carolyn Meeds
has been promoted to Senior Associate.  Carolyn has been with DHG since 2014 and has more than six years of public accounting experience. Her areas of focus are accounting and auditing services for manufacturing & distribution, government entities and not-for-profit organizations. Carolyn is skilled in the specific reporting requirements for these organizations as well as the Office of Management & Budget (OMB) Circular A-133 compliance requirements. She is also a member of DHG’s not-for-profit industry group. Carolyn received a Bachelor of Business degree from the University of the Southwest.
Pavlina Novakova has been promoted to Senior Associate.  Pavlina joined the firm in 2014 and is involved in a variety of audit engagements. She focuses on not-for-profit organizations, timeshare associations and employee-benefit plan audits. Pavlina is a member of the Hampton Roads not-for-profit industry group.  Prior to joining DHG, Pavlina was a tax preparer of individual tax returns for three years. Pavlina received a Bachelor of Science degree from Old Dominion University.
