CBDA was pleased to be part of a regional initiative to present the Transformational Transit Summit on Monday, June 27 at the Westin. 

This day-long event brought together CBDA members, community and business leaders, stakeholders, policy makers, and residents with an interested in moving Hampton Roads forward in the area of public transit. Discussion focused on the process of bringing light rail to communities across the country and the impact that light rail has had on economic development, transportation, and connectivity within these communities, as well as the lifestyle opportunities it has created for residents. Speakers also emphasized the importance of "place making" in communities and how new places of interest/economic centers/cultural hubs are creating vibrancy in cities. Featured cities include Charlotte, Denver, St. Paul-Minneapolis, and Phoenix.
